Cordierite block is a gridded ceramic blocks applied as heat transfer media in RTO ceramic media bed designs of regenerative Thermal Oxidizers to destroying hazardous and toxic chemical wastes and recover thermal energy.

A ceramic material blocks is stable under thermal cycling conditions, which depending on the direction of flow, pick up and release heat rapidly from the waste gas after combustion.
