Cordierite Blocks ( so called ceramic heat storage media) has the advantage of extraordinary surface area, is a key element to every installed Regenerative Thermal Oxidizer (RTO) and Regenerative Catalytic Oxidizer (RCO).

These regenerators are elements made of ceramic material that have the ability to heat the gases that leave the oxidation chamber. also called heat storage ability.

In regenerative heat recovery, hot exhaust gases and cool inlet gases are alternatively passed through a fixed bed, typically employing these ceramic packing.
